Overview

Tacos El Gueraso offers a solid taste of East Los Angeles’ street food culture, nestled at 5230 E Beverly Blvd. This modest eatery brings traditional Mexican fare with a focus on tacos and burritos that resonate with locals seeking satisfying, no-frills meals at an accessible price point.

The standout items here are the chorizo and pollo tacos, praised for their authentic flavors and well-balanced seasoning. Regulars like Zoe Rabago appreciate the freshness and the complementary house-made agua de piña, which adds a refreshing touch to the meal. Burritos, such as the Al Pastor, offer hearty portions that fill you up without overwhelming the palate—consistent with what one might expect from a trusted street food experience.

While the food holds its own—flavorful though not particularly groundbreaking—the dining environment is intimate and somewhat limited. The small seating area inside can feel warm and cozy, which may not suit everyone, especially during busy hours. This setup indicates that Tacos El Gueraso serves a clientele who prioritize taste and value over ambiance, including local workers and families looking for a quick, satisfying bite.

One point to note from customer feedback is attention to order accuracy, which has occasionally faltered, though the overall quality of tacos tends to compensate for minor missteps. The combination of traditional flavors with practical portions makes it a dependable stop for those craving an authentic Mexican street food fix in East LA.

Ultimately, Tacos El Gueraso delivers an honest taco experience that stands out through its consistency, accessibility, and deep connection to local tastes. It is ideal for diners who appreciate classic Mexican staples with a straightforward, community-oriented vibe.

I had the Al Pastor Burrito when the truck was parked outside for lunch. They park the truck outside, on Beverly Blvd and have seating area inside a building. The burrito was good and the salsas were good as well. I was happy with the burrito and felt full after eating it. It was a similar burrito from other truck locations. There wasn't anything special about it, but again it was good.

Great deal if I would have gotten all 25 tacos for $20.00 I got home and started passing out tacos to my wife and children. Got 19 tacos total when I paid for 25. Not happy about it and too far to go back and complain. Tacos were tasty. Was not busy when I went so I don't know how they could make such a mistake. There were only 2 other customers there at the time.

Great Tacos! Good prices. The highlight for me was the Asada and Pastor. They marinate it the same way and they're good. Horchata was good too.
